MY36BREATHS
The Open Hand Method
A living practice where ancient breath wisdom, the Japanese Art of Jin Shin, and your own innate intelligence meet — in the palm of your hand.
See · Choose · Live
The Framework
Three Words. One Transformation.
The Open Hand Method is not a technique you learn once and shelf. It is a lived orientation — a way of moving through every moment with awareness, agency, and alignment.
Before you can change anything, you must witness it honestly. See names what is actually present in your body, your breath, and your emotional landscape — without judgment, without rush.
›Awareness without action is observation. Choose is the sacred pause between stimulus and response — the moment you exercise the one freedom no one can take from you: the direction of your next breath.
›Live is not a destination. It is the quality of presence you carry into the next moment — embodied, intentional, and sovereign. You have arrived in your own life.
Inhale · Hold · Exhale
The Breath Is the Method
You were born knowing how to breathe. Somewhere along the way — beneath the weight of worry, fear, grief, and the relentless pressure to perform — that knowing went quiet.
The Open Hand Method begins with a single question: how are you breathing right now? Not how you think you should breathe, or how you breathed in your last class. Right now. In this moment.
36 breaths. The math of calm. The science of change.
A single full breath cycle carries the energy of sustenance, release and receive. You are, with every breath, a living cosmology.
The Japanese Art of Jin Shin
Your Hand Is a Map
Jin Shin is an ancient art that recognizes the hand as a complete self-help system. Each finger carries an attitude, an element, and an invitation to harmonize the energy flowing through you.
In the Japanese Art of Jin Shin, the body is understood as a living network of energy pathways — currents of life that, when harmonized, support radiant physical and emotional wellbeing. This is not medicine. It is self-knowing made tactile.
Each of the five fingers corresponds to one of the Five Elements from Traditional Chinese Medicine, an emotional attitude that distorts the flow when held too long, and an organ system that benefits when the energy is gently restored.
The practice is elegantly simple: hold a finger, breathe with it, and listen. The attitude in that finger — the worry, the fear, the grief — is not a flaw in you. It is energy looking for a direction. The Open Hand Method gives it one.
When you understand that the same five attitudes map to the same five fingers across both Jin Shin and the Five Elements, you stop seeing your emotions as problems to solve. You begin to see them as signals to follow — each one a doorway into deeper self-awareness and, ultimately, self-mastery.
The Five Practices
One Breath for Every Attitude
Each attitude has its own breath practice, its own hand placement, and its own solfeggio frequency. Together they form the complete Open Hand Method — five keys to five doors.
396 Hz · Earth · Thumb
Releasing Worry
Liberating Guilt & Fear
Hold your thumb gently. Worry is earth energy scattered — it circles without landing. Breathe slowly into the belly. With each exhale, feel the ground beneath you. You are held.
417 Hz · Water · Index
Meeting Fear
Undoing Situations
Hold your index finger. Fear is water energy frozen — the river that stopped moving. Breathe wide into the back of the lungs. Fear, honored, becomes intuition.
528 Hz · Wood · Middle
Transforming Anger
Miracle / DNA Repair
Hold your middle finger. Anger is wood energy blocked — the tree that cannot grow toward the light. Breathe with strength into the chest. Anger, released, becomes clarity and direction.
639 Hz · Metal · Ring
Honoring Grief
Connecting Relationships
Hold your ring finger. Grief is metal energy — the season of letting go. Breathe into the upper chest and collarbone. Grief, witnessed, becomes the capacity for deep love.
741 Hz · Fire · Little Finger
Dropping Pretense
Awakening Intuition
Hold your little finger. Pretense is fire energy misdirected — the warmth of the heart hidden behind performance and the mask we wear to belong. Breathe into the heart space. Feel the difference between who you perform and who you are. Pretense released becomes authentic joy — the most radiant energy in the body.

The Living Symbol
What the Open Hand Holds
The lotus grows from the darkest water — its roots in the mud, its bloom in the light. It does not deny where it came from. It rises because of it.
This is the heart of the Open Hand Method. Your hands do not grip, force, or fix. They open. They cradle. They make space for what is already trying to bloom in you.
Tamaso mā jyotirgamaya — from darkness, lead me to light. The lotus has always known the way. So do you.

Self-Empowerment
You Are the Practitioner
Self-empowerment is not a destination you reach when the conditions of your life align. It is a practice you return to — breath by breath, finger by finger — especially when the conditions are hardest.
The Open Hand Method gives you tools that travel with you. No equipment. No appointment. No prerequisite. Just your own two hands, your breath, and the willingness to See what is actually happening within you.
The Anchor
Tamaso mā jyotirgamaya
From darkness, lead me to light.
This ancient prayer is the soul of My36Breaths. It does not ask to be rescued from difficulty. It asks to be accompanied through it — with breath, with awareness, with hands that know the way home.
