BREATHWORK & SOMATIC SENSATIONS

Q

I feel tingling in my hands, feet, or face during the 36 breaths. Is this normal?

Yes — this is completely normal and very common. It is a physiological response called paresthesia, caused by a shift in oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in your blood as you transition into connected breathing. It is completely harmless.

If the tingling feels too intense, simply pause the counting, return to regular nose-breathing, and wrap your hand around your Thumb until your system regulates.

Thumb hold · releases fear & worry

Q

I got incredibly dizzy or lightheaded during Module 1. What should I do?

Dizziness usually means you are pushing or forcing the inhalation too hard. Remember — our approach is non-invasive. Soften the effort. Imagine your breath is a smooth wave rather than a forced pump.

If you feel lightheaded, lie flat on your back, keep your eyes closed, and hold your Index Finger to gently melt the anxiety of the sensation.

Q

I suddenly felt an intense wave of sadness, anger, or tears during they course. Did I do it wrong?

You did it perfectly. The lungs and thoracic cavity physically store emotional stress and unexpressed grief — which we address through the Ring Finger hold. When you breathe deeply, you break up this physical “armoring.”

Let the tears flow without trying to analyze them. They are simply leaving your ecosystem. This is the medicine working.

Ring Finger hold · releases grief & sadness

Q

How often should I practice the 36 breaths to see results?

Once daily is the gold standard — ideally in the morning before your nervous system picks up the day’s noise. Even five minutes of connected breathing first thing creates a measurably different internal state within one week of consistent practice.

If daily feels like too much, start with three times a week. Consistency over intensity, always. Your nervous system learns through repetition, not effort.

Daily practice · results with pulse harmonizing immediately.

JIN SHIN SELF-HELP

Q

What does a JIN SHIN “pulse” actually feel like? I don’t feel anything.

For beginners, it can take time to tune into the body’s subtle electricity. A pulse can feel like a faint heartbeat, a tiny thrumming, or a sudden wave of localized warmth under your hand.

If you feel nothing at all — that is completely fine. The energy is still moving. Your body is simply soaking up the harmonization. Keep holding the finger; consistency builds sensitivity over time.

Trust the hold · sensation comes with practice

Q

How long should I hold each finger or Safety Energy Lock?

A general guideline is 2–5 minutes per hold, or until you notice a shift — a sigh, a deep breath, a softening, or warmth. There is no harm in holding longer. Your body signals when it is ready to move on.

If you fall asleep during a hold, that is one of the best outcomes. Your body is deeply receiving the harmonization.

2–5 minutes · or until you feel a shift

Q

Can I use JIN SHIN holds on my child or a family member?

Yes — Jin Shin self-help is gentle enough for all ages, including babies, children, and the elderly. Holding a child’s fingers while they rest or sleep is one of the most nurturing things a parent can do. Children often respond even faster than adults because their energy systems are less guarded.

You can also guide older children to hold their own fingers when they feel anxious, angry, or overwhelmed — it gives them a tool they can use for life.

SAFETY AND HEALTH CONSIDARATIONS

Q

I have a heart condition, epilepsy, or I am pregnant. Is breathwork safe for me?

Your safety is the first priority. If you have a diagnosed cardiovascular condition, epilepsy, a history of seizures, or are currently pregnant, please consult your physician before beginning any breathwork practice.

The Jin Shin self-help holds taught at my36breaths are entirely safe for all of the above. The 36 breaths protocol involves connected conscious breathing that temporarily shifts state of awareness. Christina can also adapt sessions for your individual needs when working 1:1.

Q

Is this a substitute for therapy or medical treatment?

No — and it does not try to be. my36breaths offers wellness education, somatic self-help tools, and life coaching. These are powerful complements to professional medical or psychological care, not replacements for it.

Many clients work with both a therapist and a coach simultaneously and find that the breathwork and JSJ practices accelerate and deepen their therapeutic work. If you are under the care of a mental health professional, we encourage you to keep that relationship and simply add these tools to your toolkit.

A complement to care · not a replacement

FAMILIES AND TEENAGERS

Q

Is this program appropriate for my teenager?

Yes — and teenagers often respond exceptionally well. The tools at my36breaths were designed with the pressures of modern life in mind, and today’s teenagers are carrying extraordinary amounts of stress, social anxiety, and identity confusion that previous generations simply did not face.

The finger holds are discreet enough to use anywhere — in a classroom, before an exam, or during a difficult conversation. Teaching a teenager to regulate their own nervous system is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give them. Christina works with teens directly and can tailor coaching language to their world.

Q

Can we do this as a family? We want to work on things together.

Absolutely — and family work is one of the most rewarding contexts for these tools. When a family learns to breathe together and hold space for each other’s emotions, the entire relational ecosystem shifts. You stop reacting and start responding.

Christina offers family-focused coaching sessions and can design a shared practice that works for your household’s rhythms and ages. Reach out via the contact form to discuss a family package.

COACHING SESSIONS

Q

What actually happens in a first coaching session with Christina?

The first session is a conversation, not a performance. Christina will ask about where you are now, what feels stuck or heavy, and what you most want to feel differently. There is no agenda to rush through and nothing you need to have figured out in advance.

You will leave with at least one concrete self-help tool you can begin using that same day — a hold, a breath sequence, or an awareness practice tailored to what came up in the session. Most clients describe it as the first time someone truly listened without trying to fix them.

Q

What is the difference between the self-paced course and 1:1 coaching with Christina?

The self-paced course gives you the full foundational toolkit — breathwork, Jin Shin self-help, awareness exercises, and somatic tools — on your own schedule and at a lower investment.

1:1 coaching adds direct, personalized guidance. Christina works with you on your specific patterns, life situation, and goals, accelerating breakthroughs that can take much longer to reach alone.

Q

I am nervous about opening up emotionally. Is this the right program for me?

That nervousness is actually a sign that something meaningful is ready to shift. You will never be pushed beyond your capacity here. Everything at my36breaths is non-invasive and self-directed — you set the pace.

Many clients who were most hesitant at the start describe their first session as the first time they felt truly safe in their own body. You are always in control.

Q

Can I go through the modules at my own pace, or is there a schedule?

All courses are fully self-paced with lifetime access. There is no deadline and no pressure. Your nervous system needs time to integrate what it learns — resist the urge to rush.

A good rhythm for most people is one module per week, with daily practice of the techniques in between. One module absorbed deeply is worth far more than five modules skimmed.

Lifetime access · go at your own pace

Q

Do I need any prior experience with breathwork or energy healing to start?

None at all. Every course at my36breaths is built from the ground up for complete beginners. The only requirement is a willingness to show up and breathe — everything else is taught step by step.

If you have prior experience with yoga, meditation, or other somatic practices, you will find the tools here deepen what you already know. But experience is never a prerequisite.
